LOUVA DEUS: A Unique Organic Chaise Longue

An Innovative Design by Marcio Sassine

Inspired by the Praying Mantis insect, the LOUVA DEUS chaise longue brings a new form to the traditional furniture piece. With its organic lines and minimal construction, this design is a testament to the fusion of nature and industrial materials.

The LOUVA DEUS chaise longue, designed by Marcio Sassine, draws inspiration from the Praying Mantis insect and its organic forms. The hammock-like lines of this unique piece of furniture pay homage to the traditional way of resting for the native people of Brazil. By incorporating these elements into the design, Sassine has created a chaise longue that stands out from the crowd.

What sets the LOUVA DEUS chaise longue apart is its use of classic industrial materials such as stainless steel and nautical ribbons. This combination gives the furniture a sleek and modern look, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The separated ottoman adds an extra level of comfort and adjustability, allowing users to find their perfect lounging position.

One of the key strengths of the LOUVA DEUS chaise longue is its ergonomic design. Through careful study of human anatomy, Sassine has created a piece of furniture that provides optimal comfort and support. The hammock shape of the chaise longue naturally conforms to the body, making it suitable for people of all shapes and sizes.

The production process of the LOUVA DEUS chaise longue is a testament to its craftsmanship. Only two materials are used: hand-curved stainless steel tubes and a handmade braided hammock with nautical ribbons. This attention to detail ensures that each piece is of the highest quality and built to last.

The LOUVA DEUS chaise longue measures 770/1360/890, while the ottoman measures 690/580/90. These specifications provide users with ample space to relax and unwind.

Throughout the design process, Sassine faced the challenge of translating the Brazilian local lifestyle into an international and contemporary design. By incorporating organic lines and traditional materials, he was able to create a piece that seamlessly blends Brazilian culture with a global aesthetic.

The LOUVA DEUS chaise longue was exhibited at the Paralela fair in São Paulo, Brazil. The project started in August 2017 and was completed in February 2018, showcasing the dedication and passion that went into its creation.

This innovative design has not gone unnoticed. The LOUVA DEUS chaise longue was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2018. This prestigious accolade recognizes designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life.

With its unique combination of organic design, industrial materials, and ergonomic comfort, the LOUVA DEUS chaise longue is a true masterpiece. It brings a touch of nature into any space, inviting users to relax and unwind in style.
